CYBER 2019, an inter-collegiate IT Fest was hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Applications on 9thAugust 2019. Shri. R. Magesh, Founder and lead software architect at HASH14. He insisted the students to inculcate passion towards technology by doing Internships, joining the technical community & learning technology in trend. Events like Tech clash, zoho show, Crack the code, Maze and Miss Cyber were conducted to provide a forum for creativity and transformation of ideas and information. The program came to an end with prize distribution the overall trophy for CYBER 2019 was bagged by B.Sc Computer science department
NATIONAL CONFERENCE
GSS Jain College has a long term association with ICT Academy, an intiative of Govt. of Tamilnadu. Every year, Our College organizes National Conferences & International Conferences on various technical themes. In Commemoration of 130 th Birth Anniversary of Pujya Gurudev Shantivijaiji, GSS Jain College organizes a National Conference on “Current Trends in Mobile Computing and Communications” on 21st February 2020.
The purpose of this National Conference is to promote research and development by bringing together Students, Faculty and Researchers and promoting interest in this fast moving field. This Conference explores new emerging technologies in the convergence of Mobile Computing & Wireless Technologies. We’ve received 24 papers across the Nation from reputed Universities & Colleges. After peer-review 10 papers were selected to be presented for the technical session 1 & 2. During the Inaugural Session, the Chief Guest Thiru. Rajendran Dandapani, Director of Engineering-ZOHO Corporation, President-ZOHO Schools of Learning released the Conference Proceedings. The Keynote address by the Chief Guest emphasizes the students to develop awareness towards the recent technical trends.
The Technical Session – I, started with a technical address by the Chair person Dr.N.Zackariah, Presidency College followed by the Paper Presentation by 5 teams. The Technical Session – II was chaired by Tmt. Sarada Ramani, CEO, Global Technology Solution & by Dr.T.Kamalakannan, Vel’s Institute of Science & Technology. The Jury Panel Dr.R.Hema, University of Madras & Dr. R.Reshma, JBAS College for Women judged all the 10 teams and selected 2 best papers. Ms.M. Divya I.R.S, Deputy Commissioner, Customs & GST, Ministry of Finance Govt of India, presided the Valedictory function & awarded the best papers with Certificates, Shield & a Cash Prize of Rs. 3000/& Rs.2000/-. During the Valedictory address, the Chief Guest motivated the students to take up the UPSC Exams. Later the Chief Guest distributed the prizes to the winners. The First Best Paper prize was bagged by GSS Jain College & the II prize was won by Ethiraj College. The Best Papers are published in the Conference Proceedings with an ISBN No. and also will be published in ICTACT Journal on Communication & Technology
FINISHING SCHOOL PROGRAM
As a part of Finishing School Program the BCA Department organized a programme on 18/12/2019 on the topic “Carrier Guidance Programme” by Dr.Ashok natarajan, Programme Head,PGDM,Rajalakshmi School of Business .He addressed the gathering about different types of Exams Conducted after Completing UG degree.Some of the Exams are XAT,MAT,CMAT,CAT,TANCET etc.,Around 200 students were attended and Benifitted.
