Two Days Self Development And Grama Seva By The BBA Department

INNOVA 2019: An Intra- Collegiate Event – Report

Innova 2019, an Intra- Collegiate Management Fiesta, was organized by the department of Business Administration on 1st August 2019 to provide the platform to show case the talent of the students on the various aspects like creativity, innovation, business knowledge, to improve their leadership qualities.  It is an opportunity for students across all disciplines to meet, compete and exhibit their talents. It serves as an avenue to widen their management ideas and thoughts.

The fest was inaugurated by Dr.Sujatha Pugazhendi, Founder & Managing Trustee, Sparrc Institute, Chennai.  In her inaugural address she emphasized the need to develop the Leadership qualities and Entrepreneurial Skills and also to face the challenge of failure with the practical example. She narrates the Mahabharata story to inculcate the entrepreneurial skills among the students.  It was a day-long function with various events conducted for enhancing learning- by doing and designed to inculcate the practical knowledge in the students. There are six events are conducted on the day. Three On- stage events like Sculpted Scene, The Big Picture, & Corporate walk and three off- stage events like Business Quiz, Chasing the Perfection and Creative corner are conducted. There was over-whelming responses from all the departments. Around 250 students were participated from various departments and won the prizes. The Department of BBA clinched the overall Trophy of Innova 2019.

ACADEMIC AUDIT

The Academic Audit for department of BCOM (ISM) and BBA was held on 08.11.2019 at 10 a.m. in the Vardhaman Hall. Dr. V. Jaishankar, IQAC Director, Presidency College conducted the Academic Audit. All documents, reports, files, registers were presented for the academic year 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19.

All the faculties of BISM and BBA were present during the audit. There was a student interaction session in the beginning, pursued by inspection of all the files maintained in the respective departments. There was an appreciation given for record maintenance by the Department in proper manner at the right time.

In the end of the Academic Audit, there were few suggestions and recommendations given the examiner for enhancing further quality.

MR.KHUSHAL SHARMA ENTREPRENEUR AND NETWORK MARKETER WAS THE CHIEF GUEST OF THE DAY HE MOTIVATED THE STUDENTS BY HIS SPEECH AND ENCOURAGED THEM TO OVERCOME FEAR, BE INDEPENDENT FINANCIALLY AND ALSO PROVIDED THEM WITH INPUTS OF STARTING THEIR OWN BUSINESS. ALUMNI MEET

The Department of BBA organized an Alumni meet on 8^th November 2020 through virtual platform started with the prayer song followed by the welcome and felicitation address by the Dr.Varalakshmi, The Head of the Department, (BBA) addressed the gathering about the importance and role of Alumni by networking with college. Around 50 students from the different Batches were reported. There was a ice breaking session conducted for the Alumina. Some of them shared their experience in their job and higher studies. The Alumnae enjoyed very enthusiastically. There was a photo session and feedback from the Alumnae at the end of the meet.  The Alumnae felt happy and expressed their gratitude to the Principal Madam and the college management who have shaped their career and helped them to complete their studies.

 

ACADEMIC AUDIT

Academic Audit is a scientific and systematic method of reviving the quality of academic process in the institution .The Academic Audit for department of BBA and BCOM (ISM) was held on 04.11.2020 at 10 a.m. in the Vardhaman Hall. Dr. V. Jaishankar, IQAC Director, and Presidency College conducted the Academic Audit. All documents, reports, files, registers were presented for the academic year 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20.

All the faculties of BBA and BCOM (ISM) were present during the audit. There was a student interaction session in the beginning, pursued by inspection of all the files maintained in the respective departments. There was an appreciation given for record maintenance by the Department in proper manner at the right time.

In the end of the Academic Audit, there were few suggestions and recommendations given the examiner for enhancing further quality.

PARENT TEACHER MEET

The parents teacher meet was organized for all I, II, & III Year of BBA department on 31.10.2020 through Cisco webex. We have invited 210 parents to attend the PTA meet. Around 120 parents attended the meeting.

General issues were discussed with parents regarding to

• Monitoring their wards whether they attend online classes regularly
• Compulsory attendance for online classes.
• Information was provided about timings for online regular classes and NME classes and to make their wards to be present for online class on time and to avoid late joining.
• Information about seminars, assignments and project was shared through virtual platforms.
• Parents are informed about the slow learners by the subject in charge.

Students were motivated by insisting their parents to cultivate the habits of reading extra time at home.
