Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) ia a part of the institution’s system and work towards realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution. It will channelize all efforts and measures of the institutions towards promoting its holistic academic excellence.

ACTIVITIES OF IQAC:

  • Encourages departments to organize conferences at national and international levels on the topics of current interest.
  • Motivates faculty members to involve in research Projects, publications and guide research scholars.
  • Organizers workshop and faculty development programmes.
  • Analyses feedback from stake holders Parents, students, industrial experts at the end of every semester to ensure quality assurance in teaching and learning.
  • Encourages faculty members for self assessment to enhance their quality and skills in their entire academic and research contributions at the end of every academic year.

STAKE HOLDERS MEET

The IQAC organizes Parent-Teacher Meet for students of all courses. There was good response from the parents. The parents were updated about the progress and performance of their wards relating to attendance, academics, general conduct and discipline and participation in various college activities. Proper counseling was given to Parents and Students who lack attendance and who are slow learners.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (FDP)

The IQAC of our college organised faculty development programme (FDP) on 12th Sept. 2018. Ms. M.E. Vijaylakshmi, Founder, Thitpam Foundation, counseled the faculty. Physiological observation was done with questioners. The GSS faculty participated and received physiological feedback.

ACADEMIC AUDIT

As a part of IQAC activity, Academic Audit was conducted by the departments with the objective of enhancing the quality in higher education and to assess the status of the department in meeting the quality norms in teaching and learning.

The audit analysis was discussed with the aim of charting the future course of action, to strengthen the performance and to incorporate the suggestions given by the auditors. A total seven external academic auditors conducted the audit programme.

ENERGY AUDIT

IQAC cell also conducted the Energy Audit for our college on 26th Dec. 2018. The energy audit team visited the campus and a survey was made to realize the pattern of energy consumption.

The energy audit committee gave their valuable suggestions and recommendations for the conservation of energy.

GREEN AUDIT

Green Audit was conducted by the IQAC cell on 24th Dec. 2018. Dr. N. Godhantaraman, Deputy Director & Head in Charge, Centre for Environmental Science, University of  Madras was the external auditor to implement Green and Clean campus. The main purpose of the Green Audit is to create pollution free environment and to see that proper steps have been taken for maintaining health and welfare of the students and staff of the college.
