HISTORY – GURU SHREE SHANTIVIJAI JAIN COLLEGE FOR WOMEN
GURU SHREE SHANTIVIJAI JAIN COLLEGE FOR WOMEN is founded by Shree Maharveer Jain Kalyan Sangh (established in 1967) a Voluntary Charitable Jain association. The college is named after the great Jain Saint Yogiraj Guru Sree Santivijai Maharaj of Mount Abu (India) to make the memory of the birth Centenary Celebration.
This is a Self Financing college which is established and administered as Religious and Linguistic Minority Institution and it is approved by the State Government and Affiliated to the University of Madras. Regular Day College was started in the academic year 1991-92 and Evening College in the academic year 1995-96.
Imparting Quality Education and working for Social upliftment of Young Women, Inculcating moral Values and educating ways to strive in the competitive world to young women students are the motives of the college.
