PRISM 2020: An Intra- Collegiate Event
PRISM an Intra-Collegiate Information system management festival is organized to develop the leadership qualities & Entrepreneunial skills apart from their academic studies. It is also committed to facilitate students to develop a broad range of skills & knowledge needed in the contemporarary business environment and IT. The department of BISM has conducted the department event PRISM 2020 through online on 26th September, 2020.MR BABU BALU, Senior Engineering Manager HCL Technologies was our chief Guest for inaugurating PRISM 2020.He gave a very inspiring speech about learning.
He mentioned to have everyday habit of learning something new. He said to contribute our time in learning at least 1% every day. He also emphasized us on learning like Python and to be aware of the latest technologies. He even gave demonstration of how to learn new technology which is easily available in online.
There are about 4 events ,The first event was Tech & non-Tech participants is to speak for a word in both technical & non-Technical manner. The second on stage event was back to back where the one participant will be given a shape & the other participant has to draw it, based on the instruction given by the first one verbally. This event is organized for improving the communication skills of the students. There are also other events like Buzz bee where participants have to unscramble the given words. Logo designing where they have to design a logo for a corporate product in MS-Paint and best out of waste which brings out skills of the students in making useful product out waste materials.

PRISM 2019: An Intra- Collegiate Event
PRISM 2019 – an Intra-Collegiate information system management festival was organized by the Department of BISM on 2/8/2019. It develops the leadership qualities & entrepreneunial skills of students, apart from their academic studies. It was conducted to develop a broad range of skills & knowledge needed in the contemporarary business environment and IT.
Thiru. Raja Chellan – Founder and CEO, Rankraze Technologies Ltd, Chennai was our chief Guest for inaugurating PRISM 2019. The event started with Invocation and Morning Prayer, followed by the lighting of the auspicious lamp by our guest of honour. The event progressed with Welcome Address and felicitation of the guest. In the Inaugural address, our esteemed guest spoke about one’s passion towards doing a work in which one will find obstacles but the person should still work towards their passion. He said educational qualification does not matter much as what is needed for a person is to find his skills and work towards it. One should have a clear picture of what he/she has to do with their future. He also said once we work towards our goal, we don’t achieve things easily. We learn more from the mistakes we make and it helps us to reach the goal in more efficient manner.
Further, there were six programs (3 on-stage & 3 off-stage events) conducted for students of various departments.The first on-stage event was Turn Coat in which was an interesting format of debate in which the participants had to flip sides and talk about the topic given for two minutes. The second on-stage event was Memory’s Up which tested the memory power of our contestants by rewriting the words they saw on the chit of paper. The third on-stage event was Corpo walk which was an independent show on the best talent for exhibiting the ramp abilities of students based on certain themes.
There were also other off- stage events like E-waste which examined the ability of contestants to make use of recycled products and make the best out of it. This gave importance to the recycle of electronic waste into a product. Next, Logo Designing was conducted to see the creatitvity of the students in designing attractive logos for different products. The last event was Case Study where the contestants had to do a situation analysis and bring out their constructive ideas. Students from various departments participated in these events and won prizes. The event was held successfully and ended with the National Anthem.
